Meta has decided to cancel its plans for a high-end mixed-reality headset to challenge Apple's Vision Pro. This decision came after a product review meeting where employees at the Reality Labs division were told to stop working on the project. The scrapped device, known internally as La Jolla, was supposed to be released in 2027 and feature ultrahigh-resolution screens. Despite facing losses, Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, remains hopeful about the future of augmented and virtual reality technologies.
